Jogja Nol Kilometer
Since 2006, I've been wandering this place called Keraton district, for my wife's home is there. One thing though, always caught my eyes.. and i managed to take this picture last weekend. It's this sign board:
Apparently the authorities of Yogyakarta don't want their Nol Kilometer (zero Km) area is filled with people selling stuffs.. I'm not sure whether the zero Km area is the Keraton Palace or the small area around this sign board :p
But the above image is zoomed in x-times, and this is the irony that caught my attention:
Right behind the signboard is a magazine stand, and to the right we could see an 'Angkringan'..
Hmm... so, if you go to Yogyakarta, go visit the Keraton Palace, this sign board is located before the entrance to the Alun-alun Utara, just look to the East.
*consider angkringan as a medium-sized cart, with the person behind it selling --inexpensive-- meals and drinks. it's where the infamous 'sego kucing' sold. in english 'sego kucing' means rice for cats..
